ok I have fixed the comments section so anyone can leave a comment now you don't have to be registered i'm not sure what was happening but lots of people saying they couldn't leave a comment but it should be fixed now so please leave us some comments it's nice to know that our family and friends are reading what we are up to :)
What's happening?? we don't really know haha!! we have a couple of things in the pipeline but will keep them to ourselves for now until we make some kind of decision on what we will do! this new baby has changed all our plans again but that's life it doesn't always go according to plan and we think that this was just meant to be so we are waiting excitedly for the new arrival in February!!
Christmas is fast approaching! we had a few ideas on what we wanted to do since this will be our first Christmas ever away from our families :( we decided to go all out and go to one of the Islands well that was before we looked at the cost! it's ridiculously expensive over xmas and they have a minimum night stay around 5 nights the cheapest accommodation we could find was about $500 a night not including meals or transfers to the island so there is no way i would pay that! we have some friends here who are going home to Sydney for xmas and have asked us to housesit for them so it looks like we will do that and then head up to Townsville and Bowen for a couple of weeks.
We have been invited to a Christmas lunch so we are deciding whether to do that or go out for a fancy lunch just the three of us! whatever we do it will certainly be different from any other Christmas we have had! I am sure though that it will still be a lovely day and that Santa will still find Summer :)

Rain
We had some rain last week!! I stupidly thought that some rain would cool the place down but definately wasn't the case it seemed to be even stickier and muggy after the rain!
We woke Monday night about 3am to it absolutely pouring down and as you can imagine in a caravan was very loud! Summer never woke though and didn't take long for us to go back to sleep. When we woke Tuesday morning the place was nearly flooded!! it rained most of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The rain was again different to home huge big rain drops and no warning no spitting just dark skyes and then the downpour of rain!
It only lasted a couple of days but Mackay had 62.6mm over the Tuesday and Wednesday highest November rainfall in 59 years and the first lot of rain in 8 months!!
This is what we saw Tuesday morning when we went outside where all that water is - is normally the road

Hayes Point
We headed out to Hayes Point the other weekend for a look and with the thought of taking Summer for a swim at one of the beaches near there.
Some info on the Hays point
Hayes Point is one of the worlds largest coal export ports it opened in 1971. Two seperate coal terminals service the port, They export coal recieved by rail from mines in Central Queensland up to 300 kilometres inland.
The combined handling capacity is about 130 million tonnes per year.
From the lookout I tried to count how many ships I could see waiting to come in and got to about thirty before I kept loosing count! Shaun counted about fifty they were everywhere out on the horizon and then according to the paper on Saturday there are currently 90 ships waiting to come into port carrying an estimated 800 million dollars worth of coal! compared to 19 ships waiting to come into port this time last year!!

After hayes point we kept driving and ended up in a place called Salonika Beach which was right on the beach and quite a nice little place but nothing there other than a few houses we drove past this house and saw it was for rent for $450 a week!!! it was just a little beach shack! (picture below) the rental prices up here in Mackay are crazy!! we have looked around at rentals and for $450 a week your looking at a standard kinda house not new though and for a new house your looking at around $600 - $700 a week! seems so crazy just can't understand how people can afford it but they do!! Everything up here is so much more expensive! the joys of a mining town I guess!!
So here's a little pic of the house you can get for $450 a week - Salonika Beach would be about an hour almost from Mackay.
From there we went to Grasstree Beach and Summer had a little swim but didn't enjoy it as much as she did the week before at Seaforth
So we have been checking out all the beaches for Dad for when they come up in February so we know the best ones to take him to :)
